This film really showed me the immense talent of silent film directors. Their ability to portray all of the ups and downs and the wide variety of emotions a film has to offer without the use of any diologue or sound effects is nothing short of astounding to me.
Eisenstein does a wonderful job of taking an emotionally charged story and successfully portraying them to their full extent. He also pioneered some of the first hints of movie magic tools such as fading in and out and trucking.
Although not for everyone, this film for me was an absolute gem.
