Review of Battle: Los Angeles (2011) by Arwin K — 15 Apr 2012
Aliens invade Earth to mine our water in order to power their alien ships from outer space. Calamity ensues. That's really all you need to know about Battle: Los Angeles before seeing it.
Battle: Los Angeles is a cacophony of sounds and action that often leave the viewer disoriented and nauseous. Shaky camerawork, underdeveloped characters, and nearly nonexistent dialogue plague this movie from being something more than what it was. The dialogue in this movie basically consists of a lot of incoherent orders being shouted by marines screaming "Look out!", "Run!", "Jump!", and other similar exclamations of dismay. The movie is basically an assault on the senses, but it's still an entertaining watch for those who are fans of action movies. Although Battle: Los Angeles is far from a great movie, for what it was, it accomplished its task of being loud, sometimes obnoxious, but fun popcorn entertainment.
