Review of Basic Instinct (1992) by Hannah R — 16 Jan 2010
Although it's been a while since I've seen it, I must say that I wasn't overly amazed by anything in the film. It was the classic "she done it, but I can't prove it" story where the detective is seduced by who he believes is the murder.
I'm generally put off by the actresses overly sexual way of communicating every detail, and Douglas' inability to ignore it. The film's strongsuit is its ability to make one cringe, but other than that it's basically another story told through film.
