Review of Basic Instinct (1992) by Lesmiserables — 31 Aug 2022
Basic Instinct is an erotic thriller that tells a story that was told many times before in a much MUCH better way in movies such as Body Heat and even Double Indemnity . In order to differentiate itself from the competition at least on a surface level the writers decided to crank the "erotic" part to an 11 and thus the entire film comes across as a crude soft core porn that was aiming to get people talking or in other words shock value with explicit sex scenes that go on for seemingly forever.
Simply not worth watching in my opinion .
