Review of Barry Lyndon (1975) by Philip O — 28 Sep 2008
From the opening credits (which were masterfully done) to the brilliant narration to the final frame, this film is completely engaging. Filled with candlelit scenes, complex characters, and artful storytelling which all eclipse the long running time, Kubrick's film is definitely worth sitting through.
It's interesting to see the influences of this film on Lars von Trier.
