Review of Barocco (1976) by Tero H — 15 Sep 2008
It's a nifty little flick, Adjani is a always a pleasure to watch and Depardieu does a fine job.
Adjani plays a woman whose fiance is murdered by a hit man who looks very similar to her fiance. She doesn't seem to notice this, and all sorts of intrigue and whatnot ensue.
The major problem with the film is that Depardieu plays both the murdered man and the killer. It's actually rather distracting and really takes you out of the film especially since he doesn't seem to be as recognizable to any of the characters in the film as he is to us. Other than that, this is fairly enjoyable little film with a few really great scenes.
