Review of Bamboozled (2000) by Liam U — 23 Oct 2010
Spike Lee has always been a provoker of critical thinking, but in this case he relies too heavily on the audience to know about the subject he's criticizing, and fails to get his point across. Of course, to the person inclined to do his or her research on these subjects, Lee's discourses will become more apparent, and the experience of "Bamboozled" will be more rewarding, but a movie that requires that much work to be understood and appreciated simply isn't a very good movie.
