Review of Autumn Sonata (1978) by Ian S — 06 Sep 2008
Powerful drama - both Ullman and Ingrid Bergman are on top form as mother and daughter digging up and rattling the skeletons of their past. Like most of Bergman's films, there's a lot of people telling each other stories, but the plain direction makes it that much more emotional.
