Review of Arizona Dream (1993) by James M — 08 Apr 2010
Equally quirky and surreal, but there's no doubt it's idiosyncratic and original. There's a lot of artistic symbolism here and postmodern homages to cinema classics. Half the world will see this as pretentious dross while the other half will see this as the director intended, a bizarre dream.
Nevertheless, the acting is on top form (especially Faye Dunaway, her finest performance since 1976) and the soundtrack is excellent.
