Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Frank V — 11 Apr 2014
Apocalypse Now is the Francis Ford Coppola is the absolute masterpiece that can rival his other masterpiece The Godfather. Apocalypse Now is shot expertly, and acted absolutely incredibly, Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando, and Robert Duvall all provide stunning performances that are incredible in every sense of the word.
It takes a hard dark look at The Vietnam War but like all good Vietnam films it's entirely about people and how the monstrosity of war affects them. It proclaims both sides to be victims of the horrors of war.
This is possibly the best war film and among the best films of all time. 5/5.
