Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Ocd6766 — 23 Oct 2019
This is such a slow paced film I don't think I ever seen it all the way through in one viewing without falling sleep. In retrospect I wish I hadn't bothered,this is the film equivalent of the emporer's new clothes.
You'll try and convince yourself that you've just watched a masterpiece with a profound message about the darkness that resides in all of us because that's what the film critics tell you, but in reality this is a shallow film and it's exploration of the theme is laughbly superficial.
The film chooses to concentrate on visual imagery rather than a detailed exploration of the characters.
