Review of Another Woman (1988) by Israel N — 11 Feb 2011
Enchanting and elegant. This drama features people showing many sides of humanity: misery, arrogance, depression, confusion and ultimately, love. Two women find out about themselves when they meet: Marion, a philosopher and author; Hope, a pregnant housewife in a nervous breakdown.
Magnificient art direction, very sober and yet beautiful, it could be mistaken as an european film. The reason? Woody Allen likes euro filming style and in this particular case, he pays tribute to his all time filming hero: Ingmar Bergman.
Highly recommendable.
