Review of Annie Hall (1977) by Guillermo C — 06 Apr 2016
Definitely one of Woody Allen's best. This film is the staple for all Indie dramedies that have come after and as slapstick and as absurd as it is, it manages to balance in an extremely realistic relationship portrayal while thematically explaining why relationships are worth it in the long run in an effortless manner.
Some of the jokes get a little too tired for me and Woody talks the whole movie which could have been toned down a little bit, but I will not deny it ranks supreme in this genre and is extremely iconic for Indie films.
