Review of And When Did You Last See Your Father? (2007) by Douglas W — 27 Oct 2007
Family secrets. It's always fascinating to think of the things that may have happened before you were born involving the people that you thought you knew best in the world, or even at a time when you were just too young to know or to make sense of them.
The claustrophobic feel of this film extends beyond the deathbed scenes and across the sweeping Lake District landscapes of Blake's adolescence. Atmospheric, real and crushingly powerful.
