Review of An American Tail (1986) by Cj O — 08 Apr 2012
An American Tail, one more great kids' movie by Don Bluth! The story was adventurous and emotional, just like Bluth like's it. The animation was good, too. Take my word when I say the snowflake you see at the opening credits was absolutely beautiful in HD! I can't really say anything about the songs.
I only listened to one: "Somewhere Out There." And Fievel is a HORRIBLE singer. Tanya was OK. The movie was also kind of musical in parts where no one was even singing! You'll know what I mean when you see it.
But this movie is definitely one for the kids! It doesn't have many scary parts like The Land Before Time or Anastasia. So this is more of a kids movie than most of what Don Bluth made, even though all his movies are kid friendly.
