Review of An American Tail (1986) by Tommy K — 19 May 2017
The story is a clever yet extremely depressing allegory of the persecution of Jews by Russian Cossacks and of immigration in America during the 19th century, the animation is really well-crafted, the characters are very likable and have a lot of charm, and the songs are just a delight to listen to.
One of Don Bluth's absolute best films.
