Review of Amarcord (1973) by Sam R — 27 Apr 2008
Amarcord is tremendously successful in it's main cinematic goal: to capture the spirit and feel of a particular small town in Italy. It has no real plot or story to speak of, but is rather composed of a series of brief situations which; taken as a whole; serve to characterize the town itself, along with many of it's more colorful denizens.
And thanks to Fellini's masterful film making techniques, the movie is pretty much grainenteed to inspire feelings of nostalgia in any potential viewer. It's good picture to see if you feel like being reminded of you're childhood.
