Review of All the Money in the World (2017) by Nashid A — 13 Feb 2018
The stunning true story where the richest man in the world refused to pay a ransom to save his kidnapped grandson. All The Money In The World provides a glimpse into the mind of J. Paul Getty, whose refusal stunned everyone including the kidnappers who were at a total loss, the disbelief of the tormented mother towards her father-in-law, the helplessness felt by the grandson. The duality of Getty's mind - his extreme frugality about business deals and his extravagance towards art - pays a picture of a man who believed that people will let you down while you can always take 'things' at face value.
