Review of All That Jazz (1979) by Steve O — 22 Apr 2012
For all the camp and fantasy, this is a film about a man's obsession with death, brilliantly told and viciously honest. The performances are top-rate, the dancing is some of the best I've ever seen (and alone is worth the price of a ticket), but Joe Gideon's death wish is the core of this film, and as compelling as anything I've ever seen on screen.
A classic. Flat out genius.
