Review of Advantageous (2015) by J. Scott F — 11 Sep 2015
A brooding, moody, interesting & thought provoking film that failed to engage me. I waited for the themes to kick in for the first 30 minutes or so, and then waited for something to happen for the next 30.
Something does happen in the last quarter of the film - but it seemed more of an intellectual acknowledgement of themes with rich emotional overtones than actually pulling the audience into those thoughts or emotions.
