Review of Adaptation. (2002) by Jeremy S — 16 Apr 2010
Seeing it again for the first time in years is a revelation (maybe it's after years of being more immersed in film and life and love now than I was at 18). The structuring is some of the most inventive in modern cinema.
Nicolas Cage gives his best performance(s). It's funny and enlightening and tragic and surreal ala Bunuel and it's got Donald Kaufman's The 3. It's probably as great as the other films of Jonze/Kaufman's, and it makes me want to revisit them all.
