How very refreshing -- a Nic Cage movie that isn't completely awful or laughingly terrible. On the contrary, Cage is the brightest star of the film.
Cage clearly exhibits the brilliance of playing multiple characters. Adaptation should serve as a reminder to those who have tried this but failed miserably, such as Adam Sandler (playing his own sister) and Eddie Murphy (playing anyone from his own grandma to his 7th cousin twice removed).
Adaptation brings a wit and uniqueness to the big screen that is encouraged from the recycled and cliche-driven atmosphere that has flooded Hollywood.
Thoroughly enjoyable supporting performances from Chris Cooper and Meryl Streep just add to the experience.
