Review of Adaptation. (2002) by Eemedee — 29 May 2022
I'm declaring this a formative movie for my 20s even though I've got 6 years left on them. The scene where Donald Kaufman explained to Charlie that you are what you love, not what loves you, helped motivate me to feed my cat.
She had been meowing for the past hour despite it not being dinner time yet, and I paused the credits (I like to watch them all the way through) to open a can of pate. Once I walked her downstairs and slapped that stuff in her bowl, she calmed down and without eating any hopped on my lap for the rest of the credits and started purring.
I guess getting fed was a secondary to feeling loved and payed attention to. She really proved Charlie right there.
