Review of Adam's Rib (1949) by Lee G — 16 Dec 2007
This movie reveals so much about the masculinity and femininity in relationships, and how similar they really are. throughout the movie, I constantly found myself agreeing with Spencer Tray and frustrated with Hepburn's character.
It doesn't matter what gender the convicted is, when they walk around with a gun and aim with the intent of shooting someone, they need to be somewhat reprimanded. Anyway, if you pay close attention to the scenes you'll see many references to this play with gender.
The ending scene, for example, they are both sitting on the bed and in the background she is closer to a hanging picture of a man's outline while he is closer to the girl outline. I thought that was humorous.
