Review of Adam's Rib (1949) by Nick G — 29 Jul 2009
Finally, I see the legendary on screen couple themselves, probably the original battle-of-the-sexes, Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. In a plot that is as relevant today as in 1949, the two play married lawyers on opposite sides of the courtroom regarding a case in which a wife shoots a gun at her husband and his lover.
See the sparks fly between Tracy & Hepburn as on and off the court, the two debate over right, wrong, and other such issues that tend to come up in such cases. My only criticism of the film is that some parts dragged a bit too long and could of used editing.
Apart from that, the acting is superb, the plot quite feasible, and the dialogue- very entertaining.
