Review of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945) by Magnificent Michelle — 23 Jul 2008
To see the world (even a poverty stricken world) through the eyes of a child that has love and a vivid imagination. This movie is great on sooo many levels. The poverty during the depression is not glossed over. The family dynamic of love and dissapointment is not glossed over. Like many of you I cried like a baby when Francie got her bouquet from her Daddy at graduation.
One can relate to Francie and her unconditional love of her Daddy.
If you havent seen A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and you love B&W movies this is a MUST SEE!
