Review of A Summer Place (1959) by Guy S — 22 Oct 2011
Very engaging film. Ahead of its time in its openness regarding sex. Max Steiner's classic score is beautiful and adds poignancy where drama is otherwise somewhat lacking. I find myself much more interested in the secondary plot involving the older couple, rather than in the primary story of the two teenagers.
The love affair of the older couple is so much more plausible and believable.
