I think I prefer the shorter version in the dekalog... this one is almost identical... a slower more reflective ending lacks something, I'm afraid. It benefits from the context, in Dekalog, which cannot appear here on flixter cos it is nominally a TV programme, but is a 5 star.

.. or more... piece of moviemaking. Just how these slow, bleak, heartbreaking movies work so well is amazing. What a brilliant film-maker. I'll give this 5 stars because of the dekalog, but that's a little exaggerated for this one piece of cinema, but I'd be tempted to say it is a must-see.
