Review of A Quiet Place (2016) by Andy S — 29 Sep 2018
Holy shit! That's an opener. So unexpected but the dumbass kid had it coming to him. He was warned. This movie is just begging to be asked questions. I love when the plot is subtly given to the viewer yet we know nothing about what's going on. I love the soundtrack and music in this movie.
Beautiful location being surrounded by mountains and green. To have to live in utter silence is brutal. To be forced to live like neanderthals is even more brutal. I'm so glad they played Harvest Moon by Neil Young. That was great.
This is some really good writing and directing from John Krasinski. He's definitely got the chops for it. This movie definitely has that Last of Us vibe.
This movie was so intense at times. I never felt anything quite like I did while watching this movie. The way the movie builds up certain moments is just pure breath-holding stuff. This movie is brilliant and super original. There hasn't been a horror thriller movie that's ever been done like this. Hats off to John for coming up with such a creative idea for a story.
Fucking phenomenal movie. I almost wish that there will be a part 2 but I doubt that John would want to make a sequel. It could work though. There's a lot of character development. Checking in on how the family is able to live and move on after all the deaths and how the whole alien situation is progressing. We could also find out where the creatures came from and why and how they got there. Lots of question are still in the air.
