Review of A Dangerous Method (2011) by Jacqui D — 04 Jun 2012
The relationship between Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud in the early 1900s is shown in this period piece; with Keira Knightley in a riveting performance as a patient whose case proves the efficacy of psychoanalysis, but whose attractions and intellect test Jung's character.
The acting, sets and costume were superb (I didn't realize Freud was being played by Viggo Mortensen -- he was unrecognizable!). The story moved slowly, and has some gaps that make it more interesting and clear to those who already know the history of the people being portrayed.
