Review of A Better Tomorrow II (1987) by Nicholas D — 12 Apr 2008
This one kinda jumped the shark. The plot was splotchy, the twin brother thing was very coincidental. There were scenes that don't make sense no matter how you take them. Overall, it just was nowhere near as good as the original.
That's not to say it wasn't thoroughly enjoyable. The action was also way more frivolous and over-the-top than the original, in true John Woo style. The ending was also an interesting departure from both happy and sad endings.
