Review of A Better Tomorrow II (1987) by Joseph K — 23 Apr 2011
I was ready to hate the movie. Chow Yun Fat's character was killed off in 1, so they happen to add a story of a twin brother in New York? Far fetched idea for a sequel, but the gun battles and intense body count make up for the lack of absurdity. But then again, with the insanity in bullets flying in this movie, it may be the double absurdity that makes it so worth it.
Leaving Hong Kong years ago and settling in New York as a restaurant owner, Ken must go back to his old ways of the gun(s) to avenge a family death. Along the way, he must protect his traumatized uncle and keep themselves alive from assassins and snipers everywhere.
