The 911 film covers territory that most US newshounds may be aware of. Did NORAD stand down? Were charges planted in buildings in the "Ground Zero" square? Who can we believe? Is the World Police State on the way?

It is compelling to think about, especially among the disenchanted who may be more prone to believe that the White House contains cabalistic human sacrificers who worship a secret god, as opposed to those who are comfortable in this system as "winners".

The key importance of this type of film to me relates to encouraging one to seek answers from more than traditional mass media outlets. It resorts to an equal emphasis on sensational angles, and thus can accuse of becoming what it hates.

Ghost In the Shell II is a beautiful looking film whose examination of humankind's obsession with recreating its own image may make it a slower paced experience than fans of the usual frenetic action style anime can tolerate. I'd like to look at it again, but for the first run I'd say the entertainment value was lacking. However, when I consider that the empty beauty, described as an expression for the quest of perfection, was part of the theme of the picture, it may have succeeded on a deeper level than I have yet realized. Where exactly do you draw the line between man and machine?

Fans of visual art will be delighted, and is to those that the most appeal will be appreciated. There are some amazing sequences with extraordinary details.

What Dreams May Come is a laughably cheap sentimentalist journey through "heaven and hell" with hoaky twists and dripping mounds of rotting cheese throughout. If I weren't so comfortably seated during the showing, forced upon me in familiar "chick flick" style, I surely would have puked repeatedly. Watch only for camp value.
