Review of Angels with Dirty Faces (1938) by Blind P — 11 Nov 2010
A classic gangster picture that comes with a message that the modern viewer can empathize with as you are moved by the intense finale.
Filled with dialogue of the day that I find amusing, it provides laughs and drama in equal measure.
I've watched it now for the fifth or sixth time, and there is no drop in my enjoyment, and so I returned to my old entry to give it the 10/10 it so richly deserves.
Movies like this provide the reason to love movies.
An excellent script, skillfully shot, with excellent performances all around. What is not to love?
