Review of 8 Mile (2002) by Mrpajamas — 14 Jun 2021
I'm absolutely captivated. I'm not a huge fan of rap, but the old 90s rap, whether it's Eminem, 50 Cent or Ice Cube, I love it! That's why I was clear from the start that I would enjoy this movie and I did.
Maybe it's because I'm closer to the subject matter, but I also thought the story was impeccable. The atmosphere was top notch. Add to that the music and I was in heaven. Don't take me seriously. I'm talking mostly '90s rap fan.
As hard as it is to say, this is no MASTERPIECE, but I dare say 8 Mile is a great movie. If you like some of the rap battles or like the overall theme or are just a fan of Eminem, I believe you will enjoy the film as I did.
Probably just an average good movie for the average viewer. But in my eyes, this is a great movie that I recommend as I mentioned to rap fans.
