Review of 45 Years (2015) by Charlie H — 19 Jul 2017
While it was cool to see my city of Norwich in a film, I found 45 Years to be wholly unambitious. 45 Years is the type of romantic drama that begs for something to happen. The film explores a hidden conflict that never comes to fruition.
45 Years provides a deep exploration of the heartache and guilt involved when someone in a marriage is in love with another person, and I can appreciate that 45 Years achieved this with a talented cast.
Found cinematography and plot to be very mundane and predictable. The lack of any solid conclusion to 45 Years alongside the predictability of the story and script left me pretty disappointed.
