Review of 20 Million Miles to Earth (1957) by Jeffrey P — 30 May 2008
Much of the film-making of this low-budget "King Kong" is pretty uneven, and the script does little to engender sympathy for the Venusian Ymir. It's up to Ray Harryhausen to pick up the slack, and he does it in spades! A little slow, but still technically impressive in this digital age.
Check out the colorized version, too, supervised by Harryhausen himself! It's much better than you'd think.
