Review of Green Room (2016) by Bryan D — 18 May 2016
A pitch perfect, indie film about a standoff and Patrick Stewart as a sadistic Neo Nazi leader. Certainly not something you see every day.
The second film from director Jeremy Saulnier (his first is the must see "Blue Ruin") showcases his evolution and in my mind cements him as a director to watch out for. He fell the needed to make this film now, in case he did break out and they never would have allowed it.
"Green Room" is a sharp edge of a film, well shot, well acted and insanely violent at times but it all just works in the end.
