Review of Super Fly (1972) by Jezzy A — 22 Sep 2007
Marks the beginning of an important movement in american film. Mayfield's soundtrack is impeccable, and manages to push the film as an entertainment piece, not just as a social commentary. Brilliant acting by Ron O'Neal brings a real truth to Priest and creates a thoughtful, human everyman appeal, not just to African-Americans, but to anyone who has wanted to change the way they live their lives.
Inspirational and by far, badass.
