Review of Dixie Chicks: Shut Up and Sing (2006) by Daniel K — 27 Jan 2008
Seriously awesome documentary about the whirlwind events that happened to the Dixie Chicks after Natalie vocalized her oppinions about George Bush on stage in London on the "Eve of War" and about how those events changed them as a band and as people.
I adored the Dixie Chicks before all this went down and watching them perservere through backlash, boycott, closed mindedness, and ignorance just made me love them all the more. This film just makes me respect them more as artists, musicians, women and real people.
In a world of Britney's and Lindsay Lohans.... I'd take Natalie and her "Big Mouth" over them all! Nothing but love for The Dixie Chicks.
