Review of Zardoz (1974) by Mark N — 28 Apr 2012
Utterly bizarre, it suffers from 70's futurism where modern technology makes much of whats on display seem laughable (of course within the movie it I could make sense but is lessened all the same). Connery acts up a storm in a twisted fish put of water role that sees him clad in loincloth and thrust into a world of intellectual snobbery.
Despite the weird 70's effects and story the movie is highly watchable and offers up a few narrative surprises that keep a modern audience entertained.
