Review of Zardoz (1974) by Jesse L — 20 Nov 2003

Picture this: Sean Connery running around in a stuffed red silk speedo with ammunition draped around his neck. Charlotte Rampling decked out in the finest 70's fashion had to offer. A pornographic paradise of immortality. A giant floating rock head. Group trances that resemble seizures. Rings the size of the Hope Diamond that serve as a communication system. All this and more can be found in Zardoz, a cinematically induced drug trip.
Zardoz maintains a consistent level of awfulness that I've never quite experienced before. It's a cult classic or maybe a camp classic- but whatever it is, it's a classic nontheless.
But a ten? Absolutely. A movie of this quality deserves nothing less. :D.
