Review of Young Adult (2011) by Alyssa M — 03 May 2012
That cliché terms about how age does not determine maturity, is appropriate to describe this film. Young Adult is a light dramedy but still contain a lot of substances and felt so heart-warmed. All my thumbs for Theron as Mavis Gary, a neurotic, alcoholic, selfish-bitch. And we can not aside Patton Oswalt as her former-enemy-turned-best-friend, Matt. Oswalt managed to balanced Theron performance smoothly without being over shadowed by her tremendous act.
I'm a huge fan of Jason Reitman's works. Thank You for Smoking and Juno was great; and Up In The Air was (and is) the most lovable and the best from him. Young Adult in some ways was lit up with the same spirit with the other three, but if I have to rank it, it will be sit on the last. It's still good and lovable (thanks to Theron and Oswalt), but not Reitman's best.
