Review of Young Adult (2011) by Sean Michael S — 07 May 2012

First off, Patton Oswalt has an incredible performance. Besides this, "Young Adult" is the misguided adventure of a horrible person wasting away her days and drinking copious amounts of diet coke.

This was slightly off-putting as I am a writer watching a writer sit around doing nothing. Watching someone do something I was doing at the specific moment was quite odd. As for factual errors, the dating site "Ok Cupid" makes a cameo and sorry to burst everyones bubble.

.. its not filled with successful businessmen. So, onto the film... there are several product placements that take away from the film. Also, the protagonist is so miserable that its very hard to root for her.

In the end it is Oswalt's performance that makes the film work so well around the believable Charlize Theron.
