The impressive direction and production elevate the otherwise average premise. At times it feels as if it is a reverse parody of the usual cheap comedy with Theron playing a very sociopathic character bent on winning back the affections of her high school ex boyfriend.
The cast are excellent but in such a saturated genre there are few surprises here. Theron gives a memorable performance.
