Review of You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010) by Eric R — 15 Mar 2012
Woody Allen has really been just a shadow of his former self in the past decade or so. I think the problem is that it almost feels like almost every film he makes these days is some sort of pseudo-sequel to Crimes and Misdemeanors, his best film; not named Bananas.
You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger is another decent film by Allen. The characters are somewhat engaging, and I did enjoy how almost all of them are selfish human beings, but the film never really goes to the next level.
There are some funny bits of dialogue, and I did enjoy Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins character's the most. Decent, not great. Which pretty much sums Woody Allen up for me.
