Dark tale with Phoenix at his quirky best, but to what end? The music/sound effects were a near continual irritant, meant, I'm sure, to enhance his erraticism and angst. There's a good story in there somewhere, but it had me leaving the theater feeling like a hamster in a shock maze with no rewards.

And it didn't help that they filmed two alternative endings, and then used them both. Powerful images be damned, the industry needs a "WTF?" rating.
