Review of Yellow Submarine (1968) by Satwik S — 16 Sep 2010
One of the most revolutionary films in animation history, "Yellow Submarine" has opulent visuals and strange animation throughout. The film's soundtrack mostly consists of psychedelic-era Beatles songs as well as four tracks that were first introduced in the film.
The individual sequences set to the songs are brilliant, being a precursor to music videos in the same way "Fantasia" was. The story might be thin, but the film is a bold statement in the animation medium.
It's a great film, and one of the finest films in animation history.
