Review of Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) by Thomas M — 21 Jun 2007
Before Astaire, there was Cagney.
This is what a movie should be - a mixture of talent, truth, pride, and passion. Curtiz obviously wanted this story told, and this is one of the few movies that really makes me proud to be American.
Few people have heard of it, but this 1937 film is a classic. I recommend it to anyone with the mental capacity to appreciate it.
