Review of Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) by Ronald-Thomas F — 23 Apr 2016
Everyone knows James Cagney as playing tough mobster-types. So it may come as a surprise that he was also a song-and-dance guy starring in this biopic of legendary musical composer, playwright, actor, dancer and singer George M.
Cohan. Cagney also won his only Oscar for this role. Makers of the movie rushed so an ailing Cohan could see it, which he did before he died. An excellent film all the way around and perfect for all ages.
